Asian lesbians, the rise of girl and girl relationships in Asia.

Throughout history same sex relationships have existed in every culture, and Asia is no exception. The apparent existence of the relationships in the culture is based on the peer acceptance of the relationship in the society. (Hell and you thought you just wanted porn, sit back and get a lesson -- the porn will come later.)

During history the western influence (through missionaries [the religious kind, not the sexual position] and open trade) in the coastal Asian regions influenced much of the area's acceptance on same sex relationships. In coastal towns where a couple of the same sex had previously enjoyed relative freedom in the expression of their love, it became a social faux pas as the foreign traders or missionaries looked down upon the act, as well as the city's officials pressuring the citizens to act in a civilized manner. Imagine the confusion and turmoil this would cause in the small budding trading port cities, causing the historical appearance of gay and lesbian relationships in individual regions to fluctuate as the young societies internal view of itself (think, the Societys self esteem.) grew.

Now, in the 21st century as many Asian countries have proven themselves as global powers and adjusted to the worlds more accepting view on gay and lesbian relationships young Asian lesbian girls and gay men are coming out and choosing to live their romantic and sexual lives in the publics' view.

Media has played a strong role, with comedic acts and drama's depicting gay and lesbian relationships; young Asians are more confident with their friends and family's accepting view of an alternative lifestyle with a same sex relationship. The term YAOI is used in reference as a manga (small comic) which has no story or meaning, but focuses on a young male's relationship with another male and I hear they are pretty graphic. The comedian Razor Ramon has come under allot of heat for his acts which include an over the top gay male.

Asian girls have increasingly found it more acceptable to explore their sexuality with other girls. This style of relationship exploration can continue on until the girl is in her 20's; or indefinitely if she decides she is more comfortable with a woman instead of a man.

Lesbian Asian girls have increased in number and gaining a number of yearly events to express themselves socially and sexually with other lesbian girls. The most of these events take place in downtown metros in major cities. These girls sometimes tend to have a more forward view on their sexual relationships which when a major social event occurs at a lesbian club in a capitol city -- Lets just say tongue tied gains a different meaning for the night.
